The ancient palazzo, where I’m living in, is unique. Explore the channel, courtyard and my apartment!
I love people who are interested in a secret Venice - the Venice of its palaces and their inhabitants and authentic Venetian food. No one is a tourist in my eyes. I am genuine just like my food.
The palace I'm living in is also home of many artists and having dinner together always brought them good luck! So , welcome artists ! But I also befriend couples and friends on their holidays in Venice, and you are more than welcome at any time.
Stories of the sea and seamen and art are my favorite topics, Venice is art. I do enjoy learning, too and therefore listening!

ABOUT THEMENU

My menu is based on fresh fish from local market.
An aperitif served with typical Venetian "chichetti" are a must, followed by the best hand-made pasta with fresh fish. Let's go on with some fish "al forno", stuffed calamari, cuttlefish and polenta, and a good wine. I'm growing fresh vegetables , of course bio. ...and tiramisu or panna cotta?
Peppers stuffed with chickpeas,"masenete"(special crabs from adriatic sea),"caponata" a mix of fantastic vegetables ,"sarde in saor"a tipical way to cooking sardines of Venice's ancient seaman ,artichokes ,handmade pasta whit asparagus and a good wine(the bread and focaccia are also homemade!!)

This experience is ideal for anyone interested to learn about authentic Venetian culture, through food, and stories. Whether you are a couple on honeymoon, or a family or a group of friends travelling together, I am sure you will enjoy learning about my land and tasting my food.

We had a wonderful meal with Massimo! His palazzo is located right in the center of Venice and he was easy to find. He made us feel right a home immediately by greeting with a glass of Prosecco, and he and his friend shared many details of life in Venice during dinner. We ate outside in the courtyard which was very comfortable and casual and enjoyed many delicious and surprising courses.

My wife and I were on our honeymoon traveling to Italy for the first time and eating at someone's apartment for the first time. Massimo was an amazing host and an even more amazing chef! He gave us a tour of his flat and provided a very rich and interesting background of himself and the area. His food was amazing - it started out with amazing bread and ended with an espresso. In the middle was amazing drinks, Shrimp, spicy tomatoes, eggplant, etc. Massimo was a great experience and would recommend this to anyone traveling to Venice looking for a true authentic experience with a great host.

We had a lovely evening with Massimo - there were just the three of us so it gave us a chance to talk as well as enjoy his delicious cooking. Massimo is a gracious and charming host with lots of interesting tales of his life and of living in Venezia. He served us four delicious courses featuring fresh fish from the market and locally grown vegetables. My husband is still raving about his mussels recipe which came from his Mother. A very personal and rewarding experience - refreshing, especially amidst the crowded tourist scene of Venice in August. Grazie Mille Massimo!

I love Venice! I absolutely adore the city! Our evening with Massimo was the highlight of our visit to Venice. Our charming host treated us like old friends who were joining him for an intimate dinner party. We shared wine, stories of travel and some outstanding food! Wow! What an amazing night!! Our dinner with Massimo was the culinary highlight of our 8 days in Venice celebrating my 60th birthday with my husband, and our adult children and their spouses. I can't speak highly enough of his talent as a chef and his devotion to creating a memorable eating, drinking and socializing experience for guests in his home. I doubt there could be a finer example of what Bon Appetour was created to provide for travelers dining in foreign cities than being served a meal dreamed up and cooked by Massimo. Charming, welcoming and classy, Massimo is an expertly trained and imaginative chef with quite the resume and pedigree even though he presents himself with his main career as a seaman. There is love and passion for food especially Venetian cuisine in everything he prepares. For a small extra charge, he met our group in the Rialto Market in the morning before our dinner at his home. He was a fabulous tour guide through the fish and produce stands telling us about the available choices and checking with us about what items we liked most. The hour we spent with him was a great local's experience and a perfect precursor to the actual meal that evening. For our dinner, Massimo's apartment was light with candles, the table was set beautifully, and cool music was playing in the background. His waiter/helper Ariel, an aspiring artist and university student with an expansive knowledge of and interest in world politics, history and culture, provided a wonderful addition to the evening and made our conversation over the terrific food even more special. Our dinner courses ranged from the freshest Tuna crudo, marinaded heirloom tomato salad and homemade foccacia to a light as air frito misto, followed by a sublime dish of mussels in a melted fennel broth, and finally a supurb creative dish of scampi in a spicy sauce of fish and tomatoes. There were lovely smal pastries for dessert and all evening the prosecco and a delicious wine produced locally by a friend of Massimo flowed freely. I can't say how lucky you will be if you choose to enjoy Massimo's expert cooking and hospitality when you are in Venice. Hopefully you will select a time when he not out at sea and you too can have a meal like we shared at his home-MAGNIFICO!!!!
