The ancient palazzo, where I’m living in, is unique. Explore the channel, courtyard and my apartment!
I love people who are interested in a secret Venice - the Venice of its palaces and their inhabitants and authentic Venetian food. No one is a tourist in my eyes. I am genuine just like my food.
The palace I'm living in is also home of many artists and having dinner together always brought them good luck! So , welcome artists ! But I also befriend couples and friends on their holidays in Venice, and you are more than welcome at any time.
Stories of the sea and seamen and art are my favorite topics, Venice is art. I do enjoy learning, too and therefore listening!
This experience is ideal for anyone interested to learn about authentic Venetian culture, through food, and stories. Whether you are a couple on honeymoon, or a family or a group of friends travelling together, I am sure you will enjoy learning about my land and tasting my food.

There are few words to politely describe our experience. It was possibly the worst meal and home-dining we have ever had. We felt totally conned, the pictures and description of the food on his page bore no resemblance to the poor excuse for home-made Venetian food we were served. We had eaten divinely for 5 day’s in restaurants around the city, ate delicious and abundant food, drank decent wine and spent much less. The antipasto was barely enough for two people let alone four, we were then given a tasteless tomato salad followed by a green salad, then more salad that allegedly contained seafood...the grand finale was tiny portion of Parmigiana (a Sicilian dish) made with the woodiest aubergine, ie uncooked. This sad excuse for a meal was accompanied by wine that was clearly made in someone’s garage not a vineyard, watery and palid, a total insult in the Veneto region! The “palazzo” was a disappointing building with a broken washing machine in the entrance, no sign of any artists and a fairly dank dining area which doubled as a bedroom. The 57.50 euros for this scam was a total rip-off! I can honestly say that Massimo didn’t spend a fraction of what it cost for one meal on the food he presented to a group of ten “guests”. No sign of oven- cooked fish or home-made pasta, a total culinary and travel disappointment.
Sorry to leave a reivew so late! My husband and I were looking for a nice, homey experience with local Venetians and when we met Massimo, we already felt like we were experiencing the best of our trip. About 8 ppl met at the meeting place and Massimo guided us to his place which was nicely tucked away in one of the non-touristy streets. The table was set in a large, comfy room with some artworks done by his friend who was also there for dinner. The food he made himself(!!!) for the guests were amazing. All the seafood were fresh and I especially loved the baccala and the wine his grandfather produced. By the end of the dinner it felt as if everyone had gotten to know and share a bit of their lives in a short while. It must have been pretty tough to cook so many dishes (we were literally stuffed full) for so many strangers and keep up a lively conversation but Massimo, you're really the friendliest, best host and talented chef. Thank you for a unique experience and an unforgettable memory in Venice!! Grazie mille, mille, MILLE!!! P.S. If you ever visit Seoul, we'd be happy to take you around and invite you to our home :) Just leave us an e-mail! Thanx!
A truly superb evening! Laurence (a last minute substitute for Massimo) was so kind and patient. Our small group of five had never made foccacia or pasta from scratch before. All turned out great! The atmosphere, the chat, location, and of course the food! Thank you to all concerned.
We had a wonderful time. The food was simple yet delicious. A great experience if you are looking to get a feel for Venice, meet other travelers and a great atmosphere.
We had a great night with Massimo in his beautiful garden. The food was excellent and he was a superb host. I would highly recommend Massimo and the Bonappetour experience. Many thanks, Alec Spiller
