ABOUT THEEXPERIENCE
I am a well rounded (no pun intended) cook and diner. I have worked in fine dining restaurants in Washington, DC and have catered for a popular neighborhood Mexican restaurant. I have taken classes on everything from how to classically roast a chicken to grilling meat and making an array of seafood dishes. I have eaten in France, Belgium, Germany, Mexico and Italy, New York, Chicago and last but not least, New Orleans. My favorite way to cook for everyday is in the crockpot. Nothing better than a gorgeous piece of meat slow cooked all day with vegetables and spices. I also adore eggs. Scrambled, overeasy, poached and sitting atop of a filet mignon. Quiche, strata and hard boiled. My favorite meals are brunch and fondue.
ABOUT THELOCATION
We live in the river bluffs along the Mississippi. We are across from a Golf Course and have stunning views of the river, bluffs and the wild life that visit on a daily basis. The town of Wabasha is located 1 hour and 45 minutes from the Minneapolis-St Paul, MN airport and an hour from the Rochester, MN airport. There is much to see and do in this area. The National Eagle Center is here. LARK toys is a local toy store for all ages! Wabasha is also the home of the classic American film, "Grumpy Old Men" The restaurant "Slippery's" which was featured in the movie is located in downtown Wabasha, right on the Mississippi.

Colette's cooking is marvelous but the view from the Dining Room table will distract you from the tasty morsels in your mouth as your eyes feast on the spectacular scenery from high up in the clouds. I think I enjoy most how she speaks about how she puts together a recipe, just hearing here say sweet and savory makes my mouth water. Can't wait to go back for seconds!
