ABOUT THEEXPERIENCE

I managed the "The Magic Flute" restaurant for 10 years in Borne Barcelonés, where we served dishes from different Asian countries merged with Basque and vegetarian cuisine.
Most of the dishes I like to serve are based on my various trips around the world but with a taste of my roots. I can also take you for a visit to the Boqueria market, just nearby, before lunch, visit it, choose the ingredients and make a workshop in my kitchen where you learn to prepare various dishes I prepare.

ABOUT THEMENU

I like to offer a fusion of exotic dishes such as Thai green curry, Arabic couscous, pineapple stuffed with Thai prawns.

This is a sample menu:

First course
- Pineapple stuffed with sweet and sour shrimp.
- Peruvian ceviche (typical spanish dish) of grouper fishes.
- Peppers stuffed with brandade (an emulstion mixture) of cod with mushroom sauce.
- Salad of tomato, onion and green pepper marinated in Garam masala, lime and Tibetan pepper with fried peanuts and puffed rice crisps

Second course
- Veal port sauce and berries.
- talilandés green curry chicken.
- Marmitako. Sailor tuna casserole with vegetables and potatoes,.
- Couscous grouper / chicken / lamb with vegetables and apple sauce.
- Squid in its ink: Stuffed squid in its ink with rice.

Desserts
- Chocolate cake, carrot, cheese, fruit dipped in chocolate.

House wine (ask other wines), water, coffee or tea.

We joined Pablo in his apartment near LA Rambla for dinner. He has a very lovely space with music and candle light overlooking the City. Pablo is a photographer and a former chef. His English is very good making it easy for us to have a conversation. He is from the Basque country and we had a good review of the geography and history of the area. We started with a simple appetizer of Humos and bread and wine from Reberia, followed by a very interesting Tibetian salad (see photo) that paired peanuts and puffed rice with a mélange of vegetables- very nice! The main course was a Basque stew of potatoes, carrots and fish. Postre was fruit and a thick chocolate sauce. We talked over coffee until 22:00. It was everything we hoped for in a Bonappetour evening - a lovely and welcoming home, friendly and intelligent host and tasty and interesting dinner. We would recommend Pablo to others!
