Join me and my wife Giovanna for a traditional dinner at our cozy home. Made with freshly bought ingredients (I do the shopping), we take delight in enjoying Italian cuisine as we know it - truly authentic, with recipes passed down the generations. We will start off with some light snacks, followed by the main course, which is usually fish together with some crisp salad, and then a desert. Welcome to Florence!
My wife and I dined With Andrea and Giovanna during our recent trip to Italy in December of 2014. Andrea was very helpful in preparing us for the meal. He asked us if we had diet restrictions, and gave us good directions to his house. We didn't know what to expect, but what we got was a very enjoyable experience with two very nice people. The food was fantastic, and we really appreciated it because it may not have been stuff we would have ordered off a menu. pasta with chickpeas, spinach and cuttlefish, wine, a nice desert made with chestnut flour, cheese with a home made jam, and a post meal espresso and shot of liquor. The food was all fantastic, and our hosts were very polite and fun to talk to. We had a good time learning about Florence, and about their lives growing up there. Andrea was kind enough to invite us to a choral concert the next night that his wife sang in. We said why not? and we met him at the theater the next night. I would suggest having this experience to anyone who is interested in good food, and an alternative dining experience. It is also very cost effective for those who would like to have a great meal in Italy without spending too much. This was our first Bon Appetour experience, and we hope that it catches on because it's a great thing to bring people together for a truly unique experience. Thanks to Andrea and Giavonna!
Had my first experience with BonAppetour in March 2015 in Florence on a trip to Italy with my girlfriend. Andrea and his wife were very gracious hosts, not to mention the food was delicious! I am pretty open-minded to food and just asked to try any traditional Tuscan dish. We met up around 8:30pm at Andre's flat in central Florence and were served the following: Appetizer - Tuscan Italian Soup Main Course - Salted Cod Stew over rapini Dessert - Chestnut cake with raisins and walnuts, desert cookies with dessert wine Of course the meal was served with water, wine and coffee afterwards. Andre and his wife were great company and were good about explaining the history of each dish with a Italian food rookie like myself. I am glad I got to experience the culture from a different angle than your typical restaurant fare and would highly recommend this experience to anyone!
I am so thrilled to be writing this review because I had the best time in Florence thanks to Andrea and his wife. Even though I was late, they were so polite, happy and courteous. The food was amazing... I ate pumpkin rissotto, grilled fish and salad followed by coffee and wine ...I loved the dessert which was chocolate mousse and fresh batch of strawberries with wine.. Thank u to his wife who is a superb cook and a very warm person! Andrea and his wife even walked me back till my hotel. I am thinking of the great memories of that day. I hope when I visit Florence soon I meet them again.
A wonderful evening with great company and a delicious meal. Highly recommend!
We had a lovely dinner with this delightful couple. Andrea was very welcoming and made us all feel at home. Their adorable apartment with a view of the Domo and Florence, combined with three delicious home made courses and great company made for a wonderful evening in Florence. Still thinking about the meal.
