Are you looking for good places to eat in Rome? If you are meat and barbecue addicted, this is the right event for you! This time I'll light my barbecue in the garden and will prepare a mixed grill for connoisseurs. All will be accompanied by an appetizer, vegetables and dessert for a complete menu that will delight you.
As always, I’ll choose personally the best wine to pair with each dish to make that perfect marriage between food and wine that will enhance the flavours from both and will allow you to have a unique and unforgettable experience of taste and smell! Courage barbecue lovers, come forward! Besides cooking the best Italian dishes, we love meeting new people from around the world!
I live a short distance away from the Vatican City and St.Peter's, in a beautiful, quiet and cozy neighbourhood. The way to my apartment is filled with cobblestoned pathways and beautiful old houses. As it is also on a hill, you can catch a glimpse of the Roman skyline, over the Vatican City.
In the summer and when the weather is beautiful, we can have dinner in my well kept garden where you can see and smell the herbs I will use for your dishes and the lemon tree that I use for my homemade limoncello!
We had such fun. Part of it was finding Alessandro's Apartment. The meal was excellent and the presentations were beautiful. Loved the wine Alessandro served. He has a great breath of knowledge of the wine, the food and the area. Both he and Elena were wonderful hosts.
This meal was exceptional, everything we hoped it would be. We were presented with three different meats, each barbecued to perfection and wonderfully seasoned. The wine was excellent (both bottles!) and the dessert was tasty and light. Alessandro's homemade limoncello was incredible. We only wish we had been able to spend even more time with Alessandro and Eleana, both of whom we found to be personable, informative and very interesting. This was a winner!
I booked a Roman barbecue with Alessandro not fully knowing what to expect since it's my first time booking. From the moment we arrived both Alessandro and Elena greeted us as if we were friends. The food, the ambience and conversation was excellent, I especially enjoyed the sausages and his family recipe for limoncello. If you go to Rome, you need to have this wonderful chef cook for you.
We enjoyed a wonderful five course dinner with Alessandro at his " home restaurant" in an intimate teracce setting. Alessandro had put a lot of thought into the menu, and the dishes were perfect for a very warm August evening. Everything was fresh and light, and many of the ingredients were from his garden. Alessandro was also a gracious host shared lots of insights into local food and wine. Everything combined to make a wonderful, memorable evening.
We booked a four-course dinner at Alessandro's home restaurant via BonAppetour. It was a great opportunity to experience a genuine home-cooked meal with a local host, in a non-touristy neighbourhood (albeit not far from the Vatican). From the start, communication with Alessandro was very easy - he was friendly and quick to respond. We were a group of four with very different dietary requirements and preferences, which Alessandro took into account with the menu. Our opinions of individual dishes differed, but we all agreed that the pasta and chicken were outstanding - the best dishes I'd tasted in Rome! The bruschetta made with homegrown tomatoes was also stunning. I don't drink, so Alessandro introduced me to Chinotto, which was refreshing and absolutely delicious. Alessandro was a great host. He explained how he made each dish and we had a very interesting conversation about all sorts of things! As it was summer, we sat in the (sheltered) garden and were able to go up to the roof terrace and see the homegrown herbs and vegetables he used. Afterwards he sent us an email with plenty of food-related tips and recommendations, and we visited one of the recommended food stores which was indeed amazing! I highly recommend dinner with Alessandro. There are many great restaurants in Rome, but Alessandro's kindness and hospitality, and the personalised experience, made this event truly memorable.
One of the best experiences I had in Rome. If looking for an authentic italian home dinner, this is a great option. Alessandro was very hospitable and shared with us his knowledge of food and his favorite dishes. Make sure to come on an empty stomach. Some of the best food I have tasted in Rome.
Dinner at Alessandro's was a truly delightful part of my short stay in Rome, and the best meal I had without question. I was on my own, and no one else booked on the same night, so I had a delicious meal made just for me. I enjoyed our conversation and learned a lot from Alessandro about the ingredients in the dishes he prepared. He is a talented chef and he and Elena are gracious hosts and I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Rome!
My husband and I had a dining experience with Alessandro during our trip to Rome that was fabulous to say the least. It came at the end of a 3 week trip to Italy mostly in Puglia and was most definitely our best meal of the entire trip. Alessandro is a talented chef as well as a sommelier. Our meal was prepared with care and incredibly fresh with all local ingredients and a great wine pairing of a regional wine. I hope to duplicate some of the dishes when I return home. The conversation was engaging and it was great getting to know Alessandro as a person as well as a chef. We left with full tummies, well satisfied and friends. We hope that our paths cross again in Italy or possibly a trip for Alessandro and his girlfriend to California. If you book a food experience with Alessandro I can tell you right now you won't be disappointed. Bon appetit as they say!
