ABOUT THEEXPERIENCE

I'm a former professional chef and am dead serious about having fun in the kitchen. Cooking is all about experimentation and simply having a good time. I’ve been cooking since I was 8 & learn something new in the kitchen every single day. I've cooked in several countries - Jordan, Tanzania & North Korea to name a few - and believe that food is the greatest unifier there is.

I've been writing a light hearted food blog for many years, & teach people how to produce Indian food that’s simple to cook, & absolutely delicious. Everyone who has tried my recipes, has survived to tell the tale!

What you get out of a cooking class with me, is an Afternoon of Awesomeness™️.

We’ll pour a few drinks, play some music, put on wacky aprons, and cook an early dinner on my beautiful harbour-facing balcony. You'll get a crash course in the herbs and spices of the Indian subcontinent, and over the course of the afternoon, we'll cook a complete meal - appetiser, mains and dessert. I will teach you basics like slicing an onion, and also some advanced techniques like flambéing a pineapple without losing even a single eyebrow.

ABOUT THEMENU

One of the coolest things about this class, is that I cook a different menu every week. There are plenty of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, and once you book, I'll get in touch to figure out preferences etc.

Here are some of my greatest hits:
- Chicken 65 / Cauliflower 65 - a fun spicy appetiser from South India
- Chicken / Paneer (Cottage Cheese) Tikka Kebabs
- Dal Tadka - lentils with looks and money
- Bangin' Bharta - roasted eggplants in a tangy onion-tomato sauce
- Different kinds of Pilafs
- Dessert
- Hot water

You can also choose anything you like from my Instagram @madonionslicer, and we'll make it happen!

ABOUT THELOCATION

My apartment is located in the scenic Spottiswoode Park neighbourhood, that's close to the Central Business District and Chinatown. We overlook the harbour, and a little patch of forest land.

Notes:
1. We're on the 36th floor. It's totally safe but if you have a fear of heights, you might want to think about that.

2. We also have a dog on a leash. He's not aggressive but beware of puppy eyes.
