I have worked as a professional cook for more than a dozen years and became a master food preserver in 2011. Since then, I have been teaching other people how to make their own kimchi, sauerkraut, kombucha, jams and jellies etc. I love to eat, to explore different kinds of food and to share good food experiences with others.

I have to say that was out of my expectation. Really really amazing. The food Hae Jung created and cooked was delicious! Spent a quality time with Hae Jung & her hubby James, and also their two lovely friends. Their warm hospitality on that night is really extremely important to me. I wish I could share with you guys some photos about those amazing food I had on that night, but unfortunately my phone was on charge during that time. Highly recommend!!!

I have known Hae Jung since we shared our certification training as master food preservers; she's carrying on the tradition under the banner of Slow Food Preservers Los Angeles. No one knows more about kimchi and fermentation, and she was a professional cook for years before that. She's a great instructor for our SFPLA program and everyone who goes home with what they made under her tutelage will tell you how much better their products taste than restaurant or specialty market fare. Hospitality is key, the apartment is chock full of contemporary art. It's a cultured affair anytime you have the opportunity to be with her or dine with her.

Hae Jung taught me how to make kimchi. It has become a staple in my fridge. Her teaching skills are stellar. She is so obviously passionate about what she does. While teaching the preparation of the food, I also had the pleasure of learning a bit of Korean history. I would love to have Hae Jung prepare a meal in our home.

Hae Jung is an amazing cook! I'm so happy she shares her love of food, the Korean culture and art of cooking - have enjoyed so much I keep going back for more! Not only have I left her place with a delicious bottle of home made kimchi (napa and cucumber), sauerkraut, but left full from korean kimchi pancakes, figs and other goodness! Always love the conversations and learning more about preserving food and new things she has whipped up and is cultivating in her fridge/freezer :)
