ABOUT THEEXPERIENCE

I'm an adventurous chef - I love experimenting with my dishes with different recipes, ingredients and methods of preparation. I usually don't like cooking the same dish very often - there are so many millions of dishes to prepare, why repeat?!

It's always a surprise and there's sometimes a risk ;) But life is a box of chocolates, is it not? You never know what you're going to get! I always let others try the dish before I do, and they love it - what's a life without a little thrill and uncertainty ;)

I'm happy to fix the menu with the guests. Just let me know if you have any dietary restrictions, food preferences ,or you want to have an authentic taste of a particular dish.

I would usually propose a 3 to 5 course meals, with appetizers, fish, meat and desert. I am always glad to be challenged to cater to specific requests, like preparing a vegan meal, or a gluten free one. But hey... make no mistake... I am very carnivore and "fishivore"!!

There's a wood fire oven in our backyard, and I use it in my cooking, mainly to prepare fresh home baked bread, usually, a sourdough!

Vegetables, plenty, from our vegetable garden. And wine, of course, to match the food... No concessions here... only Portuguese wine!! The best in the world! Ah... but guests are more then welcome to bring wine from their countries and share it! We are always happy to have a glimpse of the world from our home.

ABOUT THELOCATION

We live in a small town house in Queluz, half way between Lisbon and Sintra and a 5 minute walk from the royal summer Palace of Queluz. We have a small backyard where, weather permitting, we will be having our meals. That's where we have our vegetable garden also.
You can easily reach us by car or train (a train to Sintra from almost every train station in Lisbon, will drop you at a short 5 minutes wlak from our place). In case you are staying at the Queluz Pousada de Portugal, it's also a 5 minutes walk from our place!
