I’m Rosemarie, an Australian of Italian (Calabrese-Sicilian) heritage who's called Turin home for ten years. I'm a passionate home cook inspired by Piedmontese and other regional Italian recipes and the seasonal produce I find at my neighbourhood market around the corner from my apartment. I've been giving voice to my passion for cooking on my blog, (http://turinmamma.com/), for over two years and I recently completed a professional cooking course run by Italy’s oldest chefs’ association. I look forward to sharing what I've learnt about Piedmontese and other regional Italian culinary traditions by offering you two cooking/dining/learning experiences: - MARKET-TO-TABLE - PASTA-MAKING CLASS Photo credits: profile pic by Michelle Bottalico and Market-to-Table class pics by Alecia Wood. If you are looking for a personable and interactive cooking class, then I highly suggest booking with Rosemarie. We started off by meeting at a local cafe where we ordered cappuccinos and cannolis to start off the morning. Rosemarie then welcomed us into her home and explained all of the different foods we would be making and trying. She was an excellent teacher as she explained the Italian cooking traditions while demonstrating how to make the pasta. She also provided some helpful tricks. The entire meal started off with an antipasti consisting of pesto anchovy spread, cheeses, spicy sausage from her grandfather's farm, prosciutto, bread from the bakery and homemade plum jam. Rosemarie taught us how to make tarjarin pasta with light olive oil and zucchinis on top. The dish was simple and perfect for the hot summer time. For dessert we indulged in a homemade plum sobert (from her family garden in the country side). Following dessert she offered us digestives and coffee, which is a perfect way to end a tradition Italian meal! During the meal I truly enjoyed having a conversation with Rosemarie about the Italian culture and way of life. I admire her for welcoming people around the world into her home and sharing both her passion and knowledge about pasta making. If you are looking for an experience that will leave you highly satisfied and full, book your class now!

We met her at a small Cafe by her house. We had cappuccinos. She offered pastries but we declined in anticipation of our meal. We visited a bit to get acquainted. We waked to her house and she showed us around. During the lesson she shared facts about cooking, local customs, and Italy. She is a good teacher and knew when to step in and when to let us go it on our own. The food was very yummy and we can't wait to cook with Rosemarie again.

Our day with Rosemarie was AMAZING! Sadly we had some weather issues and we were 30 minutes late, but we still had enough time to get a great cup of coffee along with an incredible pastry. Although we expected a huge market, due to the weather, many of the stands were not open but we still got all the needed ingredients. Afterwards, we went to buy some meat and wine in small, authentic, local shops, where we got to learn some more about the meat used in the Italian kitchen and even taste some chocolate. After the grocerry shopping we went to Rosemarie's kitchen, and started to cook together. We had a full 4 course meal which was both delicious and fun to cook. Rosemarie was so nice and answered every question with a smile. We got many tips for cooking! This experience was great and very recommended!
