Anna is pleased to entertain the guests in her own kitchen on the hill of Lavagna, overlooking Portofino and the Tigullio Gulf, and practically involve them in cooking Ligurian style. Local fresh ingredients will be provided along with lots of herbs as per the local culinary tradition. Three hours workshops will be followed by a full meal (dinner or lunch) based on the dishes prepared during the workshop.
Home made fresh pasta, seafood and vegetables dishes are the average courses which Anna proposes, leading the participants to put their hands on and to move around the kitchen as in a typical Ligurian house, then creating a very friendly atmosphere. Her fluency in English and easy going teaching method will make you feel at home, also with the complicity of a glass of a good local wine. Learning how to make a dish of Pansotti with walnut sauce, or baking a popular Pasqualina pie or "messing around" to put together a rich sea food salad or soup won't be so difficult for you then!
Anna's location for her cuisine classes is strategically situated in Cogorno village where she lives, a typical Ligurian village overlooking the gulf of Tigullio, east of Genoa, including the beautiful Portofino bay.
From her garden the view over Portofino mountain and bay is stunning, especially at the sunset when the sky is often coloured in different shades of pink and orange.
The green hills surrounding the gulf, covered in olive groves and dotted by country side churches picturesquely blends into the blue sky and sea.
From Portofino to Sestri Levante following the coastline belonging to the Tigullio Gulf, you can come across Santa Margherita village, Rapallo, Chiavari and Lavagna, all of them offering the spoilt of choice for outdoor sports, shopping, historical, cultural and culinary trips and excursions.

We had the most wonderful cooking class experience with Anna. She welcomed us so warmly and she cooked together with us a delicious, authentic Ligurian meal, which was absolutely not like standard Italian dishes. With a beautiful sunset we were able to enjoy dinner. We learned so much during her course and are now so much richer in experience. A cooking class with Anna is more than recommendable!
Anna was great! We had a wonderful time. Anna is very knowledgeable. Would do it again.
Anna’s cooking class was amazing and far exceeded our expectations. She is very knowledgeable about all things Italian including its history, food, and any cultural questions we had. We spent 5 hours with her and it went by so fast. She initially sent us a few menu options before hand when I first booked the class. We made pesto by hand with basil she grew, then made the pasta. It was such a full experience and such a deal for everything we made and ate. At the end we ate with appetizers, the pasta we made, a octopus potato salad, and an incredible Italian ice cream dessert. We had a lot of leftovers as someone didn’t show up, and she sent us home with all of them so we had 2 extra meals! I highly recommend Anna’s class.
We loved every minute we spent with Anna in her home in the village of Cogorno. Anna is av very good cook and teacher and the Ligurian dishes we cook we will try again when we get home. Making gnocchi was especially fun and also fried zucchini flowers, a dish we only tasted once before. We wanted the lesson to be in Italian to improve our language and Anna was extremely patient and a good teacher in that area as well. Thank's again Anna. This was by far the best day of our time in Chiavari, Liguria.
