I am bilingual Italian/English and also speak French. I did German at school but sadly have forgotten most of it.

#General culture
#history
#education. Our two children went to international schools in Rome. I am 'people' person and that means that I appreciate people from all walks of life
#no matter what their religion or background. Good and interesting people are good and interesting all over the world.

Hi there! I am half Italian, I love to cook, I love hosting dinners with friends and family, and I also teach Italian cooking classes. I learned to cook Italian food from my nonna (grandmother) and my now 92 year old mamma (who still cooks and gave up driving only last year). My stepfather's work brought him to live in various countries and I grew up in West Pakistan, Iran, Bangladesh and Lebanon - and throughout Frascati was always 'home' I spent six years in boarding school in England and earned an American BA here in Rome. I worked for the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization. I have been living here permanently since 1977, am married to an Italian and we have two children. I am a staunch supporter of seasonality and 'good' food, and buy locally as much as I can (I have been boycotting supermarkets for the last ten years, only going when I am forced to for one reason or the other). Where I live, in Frascati, a 30 minute train ride from Rome Termini station, we are graced with the good luck of farmers' market all around us nearly every day of the week (the photo you see below? That is the famous Villa Aldobrandini overlooking Frascati's largest square). Our cuisine is basically Roman cuisine, and Frascati has much history and beautiful surroundings to make it worth a visit. I am part of the Castelli Culture Club. And I have been writing an Italian food blog since 2010. It started out as www.myhomefoodthatsamore.wordpress.com and has morphed into www.frascaticookingthatsamore.wordpress.com.

Josephine is a wonderful (Italian) cook, but most importantly on wonderful person. We spent a few hours at her beautiful apartment in Frascati learning how to prepare many types of pasta and accompanying sauces (learned 7 recipes!), and we really had a blast. Not only is she very knowledgeable about the topic, but the passion she has for authentic, sustainable and delicious Italian cuisine is contagious! The most precious thing about meeting Josephine, is her kindness and enormous generosity. We left her home feeling like family members, not only having learned about Italian cuisine and the Italian way of life, but most importantly having had the opportunity to meet with her and her family. If you are looking for an immersive Italian cooking experience and if you enjoy meeting exceptional people, I encourage you with no hesitation to meet Josephine and her husband Pino. We will (for sure) be back in Rome/Frascati one day just to see them again!!!
