Solyanka originally comes from Ukraine but during past 50+ years it one of the top soups appreciated by locals. As solyanka is made mainly from meat, it is really filling. This soup is served in the next day after the weeding party. And if you have different meat and sausage leftovers in your fridge, it is possible to make a quick & easy version of this soup. But our experience class will be a case of classic solyanka preparation.
The guest experience will be almost a day long event. The guests will be met in Riga Central Market where Ilze will held approximately 1 hour excursion. During it we will purchase all the necessary ingredients for the soup.

Right after we will depart to cooking venue - our house that is located approximately 30 km out of town. There Janis will be welcoming guests with some starter snacks and we will start cooking. The process from beginning till ready made soup is approximately 5-6 hours.
During the preparation of the soup we will bake the bread. As process is quite time consuming the guests will be served a light lunch followed by home made wine tasting. While all ingredients are preparing we will offer our guests to take a walk in the forest (any time of year), take a bath a spring water pond and relax in hammocks when it's warm outside.
