Trastevere is a medieval area in Rome that is separated from the central city by the river Tiber. Despite of its narrow lanes, many tourists are attracted by its charm visiting the area. It is the only place in Rome that survived the medieval period. While maintaining a strong local identity.
Trastevere has lots to offer from accommodations, tourist attractions, entertainment, shopping and sports. Getting into the Trastevere is possible through trains, tram and bus. There are lots of places to see when you visit Trastevere. This includes San Crisogono, Ponte Sisto, Santa Maria in Trastevere, Santa Cecilia in Trastevere, Isola Tiberina, Gianicolo (Unesco Patrimony) and many others.
If it is your first time to visit the place makes sure you have your travel guide otherwise you would get lost in the cobbled streets. Nevertheless, you can also enjoy dropping in some historic sites and monuments all over Trastevere. Indeed, Trastevere is full of historical places where you can obtain idea about their culture.
Crazy amazing!! Gennaro laid out a beautiful spread for us, and was really wonderful at showing me the techniques and ingredients to make the dishes again on my own. Hands down, my best experience in Rome. I have made the Parmigiana twice since, and everyone raves about it. Grazie, grazie, I'll never forget this meal!
Gennaro's "Pasta Frutti die Mare" is just the best I've ever had! He's cooking like a goddess. He and his girlfriend Svenja are very lovely hosts and we spend a great time together...
Fantastic cook! My favorite dish: Cacio & Pepe with truffle cream & Parmigiana di Melanzane!
