ABOUT THEEXPERIENCE

Influenced by Portuguese fishermen, Dutch diplomats and English customs... Born of the local cuisines, from Malay to Indian to Chinese... Shared with another community of mixed races, the Peranakans... But distinct in its palate and unique to each family... Recipes handed down through the generations and so well guarded that even the recipe books will always hide an ingredient or technique or two.

Welcome to my Eurasian home.

Learn about Eurasians as one of the official races in Singapore... Our culture... Heritage... And most importantly, family life. Each dish is linked to an important event in every Eurasian's life and with each event, there's always a story or 2.

ABOUT THEMENU

Sit down to a family-style table, where the menu changes with the tide (And whatever is freshest at the market). We're also open to special requests, and are adaptable to dietary restrictions wherever possible. We also offer a small wine list at extra cost.

And if you're keen on adding on a dry crab curry, this can be arranged at an extra charge as well. (Please indicate this at point of booking as we will order fresh crabs specially for you)

Some classic Eurasian dishes:
- Curry Debal (Also know as Devil's Curry)
- Fresh salad with chili chukka dressing
- Beef Semur
- Scotch eggs with local pickles
- Pineapple curry prawns
- Tamarind Pork Belly Curry
- And many more!

ABOUT THELOCATION

We're based in good ol' Siglap, a quaint and quintessentially mixed-up neighborhood where many Eurasian families have their roots, my family included!

As we ascended the walk-up stairs, our nasal cavities were welcomed to the homely aromatics of caramlised onions, garlic, cinnamon and other familiar smells of home. As soon as we rang the door bell, we were welcomed by a kittenish lady with flowing Rapunzel-esque locks, a pretty face and curious eyes, hidden behind large gray spectacle frames. She showed us in and sat us down on her handsome sofa. We were each offered an apero and found ourselves amused by two very charming Scottish Folds while our bubbly host busied herself with the finishing touches to the meal she was going to present us with. No sooner was her mission complete, she directed us to our seats at the table, popped open the second round of drinks and then gingerly presented us with Curry Debal, Feng, Beef Smore and Pineapple Prawns. As she laid each dish on the table, she provided a vivid history of how each one came to be both historically and locally, along with little nuggets of anecdotes - we felt Eurasian at the table. For most foodies, a food review details everything and nothing else about the food. We aren't foodies, but we decided to embark on this teeny epicurean tour simply because our curiosity got the better of us. "What is Eurasian Food?" Ask anyone on the street and they'd tell you, "Oh, I don't know." Well, not with this Eurasian "Appetour". Our eyes have been opened and our taste buds have been well satiated. We would gladly try it again!
