Welcome to my humble abode in the heartlands of Singapore.
As a housewife, I enjoy cooking rustic meals for my family. I specialize in authentic Cantonese cuisine, and I love experimenting with modern flavors infused in traditional Cantonese dishes. A typical Cantonese meal would include simple delicacies like
This simple 3-Course Meal, you will get to experience how I prepare the broth, and a hands-on DIY to fix your own Kueh Pie Tee filings
The Fresh Fish Slices with Rice Vermicelli and mustard greens in Fish Broth cook and seasoned lightly.
The broth is simmered for at least an hour or two and the end results are a milky broth that goes very well with the thick vermicelli, lightly seasoned fresh fish slices and mustard green.
Ending the meal with a homemade dessert with a choice of either - a fresh mango pudding, a fresh durian pudding, or Peach Gum with Red Dates & Longan
In the Cantonese cooking, simplicity is everything, and there is rarely any addition of too many ingredients, but each ingredient will bring out complementary flavors guaranteed to satiate your taste buds.
I live in the heartlands of Singapore, where you can see a glimpse of the local lifestyle. I can also take you around my neighborhood to show you local sights that make Singapore so unique.

I was assigned to Ms Janice Yam for the TRADITIOMAL HOME DINING and I feel so happy that among all the hosts that your team recommended, I ended up with her! ARRANGING THE VISIT She always responded to my messages, answering my questions very well, and giving me very detailed instructions re the MRT to West Tampines. (For a minute i was afraid i may get to the wrong platform or get off the wrong station. But these did not happen!) THE DAY OF THE MEET-UP I requested Janice to move our meet-up time a few hours ahead (this way my sister and I could spend time shopping after our meal) and she was very gracious and said yes. THE TRADITIONAL HOME DINING EXPERIENCE The food she prepared was incredible! Wonderful home cooking! A great appetizer, a very fresh fish soup, and dessert! She is a 5-star cook! And I could tell that she put a lot of experience and dedication to her preparations! Even the dining table, name cards and napkins were lovingly prepared! And so pretty! START OF A FRIENDSHIP We had a nice conversation with her and her husband. They sent very good vibes and after a while it seemed that we were no longer strangers to each other! I felt I had found 2 friends! When I return to Manila I hope to send her a very nice Filipino cookbook so she could try out our own dishes. She is a great asset to the Bon Appetour Team!
