We like to offer our guests the chance to taste the typical recepies and the food of our region. We range form the most simple and popular Florentine dishes to the more sophisticated ones and we can cook menus on demand (if you want to taste something in particular just ask!). We can organize special events (birthdays - anniversaries - surprises - children parties). Our specialties are: Vellutate di Verdura (vegetable creams), Lasagna (with meat or vegetables), spezzatino di carne (stew), any roasted meat and fish, vegetable dishes, orange marmalade, home made ice-cream. On demand you can have wines and also a specialist who can describe and do a wine tasting for you.
The house is in a beautiful neighbourhood surrounded by lots of beautiful landmarks and architectures. Some notable ones are: the Russian Church, Fortezza da Basso, Stensen Museum. The city centre is just 5 minutes away.

We were privileged to be welcomed by the two Ilarias for a typical Tuscan meal during our stay in Florence last month. We immediately felt at ease with these two lovely ladies. They are both pleasant, warm and kind, interesting and informative, sharing with us the customs of daily life in their part of the world. It was to be a very special evening. The two Ilarias served us a meal they would typically prepare for their own families. To begin, a perfect appetizer of fried mini tortellini was offered while we became acquainted in the living room. Our first course was a most delicious regional lasagna which is more delicate and understated than our own Canadian version, and one we so much prefer as it turns out. Our second course was flavorful, tender and mouth-watering pork served with a salad which was lightly dressed. And finally, we indulged in a sweet wonderful torte as well as perfect biscotti. The entire meal was accompanied by Tuscan white and red wine, and dessert with a traditional sweet alcoholic beverage. What a treat for us to eat such amazing local fare and to be able to share it with two exquisite Florentines in their own environment. We left that evening having met two special people who opened up their home to us and who taught us more about their culture through food and conversation. Thank you Ilaria and Ilaria. The experience you gave us remains in our hearts and memories forever.
