ABOUT THEEXPERIENCE

A family of 6, with 3 active, young boys I am bound to push my imagination and bring forth to the table a meal that everyone would enjoy. I (We) love to host parties and make everyone happy through my simple and most creative dishes. Our home is cosy and is always open to family and friends and friends of friends. We have traditional parties for buffets like Christmas, Easter and Halloween and the house can accommodate as much as 50 people including children. We also do casual brunch and intimate dinners. I also host occasional cooking lessons on whatever my friends would want to learn that I already know how to do.

ABOUT THEMENU

I can concoct whatever I fancy. Inspirations coming from recipe books, food channels on television, the web, family and friends' recommendations and my children's requests. My real strength is Filipino cuisine, which brings me nostalgia and takes me back to where I come from. But I like presenting Filipino "favourite and special" foods, put the elements together and plate them in a more enticing way.

Situated on an accessible, peaceful neighbourhood of Thomson Garden Estate. We're near to the The Bishan Park, where you can have a chance to see family of frolicking otters. The nearby MacRitchie Park &Tree Top Walk, where an after dark drive or stroll at Old Upper Thomson Road, you can have a lucky sighting of wild boars. These you can enjoy before or after a meal with us.

I booked this on behalf of a friend, and this is his review: First BA experience and enjoyed it a lot!! Mylene is a warm host and a great chef! The food was exceptional, she even served us fritters and unique drinks. The experience was beyond what I expected. From playing football with one of the kids to chilling in the garden to having conversations around everything from govt policy to startups with her husband. Mylene went out of her way to ensure that we had a good time. It was more than just a meal. I understand now why they're called Bonappetour experiences. I want more!

We had a blast at Mylene's. She and her husband are genuinely so warm and welcoming, and her home felt so cosy and relax. So much thought and effort has also been put into the decor and we could feel her passion in it. And her cooking was absolutely amazing and scrumptious!!! Travelling to a different galaxy for food prepared by Mylene, was totally worth the trip. :D With great attention to detail, she, together with her family, transported us to a world where lightsaber duels were possible and the food was fun and delicious.

I had one of the most delightful culinary experiences at the home-visit organised by Bonappetour. Mylene and her family who hosted me for the evening were the most gracious and friendly hosts. I had asked for authentic Filipino food and Mylene had cooked some amazing dishes. The evening started off with a non-alcoholic Mojito with savoury peanuts with conversations about Singapore life. This was followed by a most excellent Sisig, which is a popular appetiser made up of pork marinated and seasoned with lime juice. The Sisig came on a sizzler plate topped by a half-fried egg. After the lovely Sisig, I was served with Afritada, a stew of chicken served with rice. The Afritada was amazing and demonstrated the culinary skills of Mylene. The meal ended with a most delicious Asian Creme Caramel and Filipino Coffee. Thanks, Mylene and Bonappetour for the lovely culinary evening.
