At Host's location, in Plaza Real 3.
This is a dynamic, participative and fun Mediterranean cooking class, guided by a professional chef.
The experience will start with a tour of the “La Boquería” market, the largest public market in Barcelona, where the guide will tell you about the traditional foods and also the most popular Catalans products.
Next, head to the private home of a professional chef for a comprehensive, hands-on cooking class. Learn a variety of traditional Spanish recipes for dishes such as paella, patatas bravas, and several kinds of tapas. Taste as you go along and listen to the chef explain how to use important regional ingredients such as olive oil, tomatoes, and herbs.
Before starting the cooking class, you will have the chance to try ten tapas from different cities in Spain, and the chef will give a brief explanation of the origins of each ones.
We will start the cooking class where you will learn how to make seafood Paella, Spanish omelette and Catalan cream.
You will then be invited to our private lounge for a tasting menu of our cuisine accompanied by the finest wines, all served by waiters.
It is an open workshop, and we can take up to 10 participants. Here lies the charm - a chance to meet interesting people. It can also be done as private cooking workshop, that is, with a chef, assistant and a private space for you (for groups of two to thirty participants).
What to Expect:
-It starts with a walk Through the Boqueria Market, located in "Las Ramblas of Barcelona".
-Welcome to the participant with snacks and drink while you cook.
-It includes tasting 10 "Tapas".
-A brief introduction of the activities will be made.
-Every participant will have an apron, a table with space, with the materials, the ingredients and the food for cooking the meal.
-Will count with the help of an assistant and chef, who is the one in charge to give the directions to the team in the elaboration of the recipes.
-When the meal is done, the participants will move to the dining area where they will sit at an imperial table to eat the meal they have prepared.
-Event's length: four hours approximately.
Our gastronomic space is ideally located in the heart of Barcelona, the Plaza Real. It is an ideal place for group activities like cooking workshops, meetings, team building, events and showroom encounters, for individuals and companies.
We greatly enjoyed our class and market tour. We had a great group and a fantastic instructor who taught us how to make some spectacular food but also taught us a bit about the Spanish culture. Was a great way to start our trip to Barcelona and would highly recommend it.
My fiance and I took this cooking class and had so much fun. We learned about their traditional tapas and the Spanish culture. So much of their culture comes out through food. The chef was great as was the lady who owns the business. We did the tour that included the market tour, which we are so happy we did.
My daughter and I recently enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of cooking after touring La Boqueria Market with Alfredo and Gretel! We learned how to make paella, potato pancakes, and catalon cream while sipping on wine in their beautiful location in Barcelona. We ate several types of fish we had never tried before. After cooking the food, we sat down and enjoyed eating it, and it was delicious! I highly recommend this experience as a fantastic way to immerse yourself into the culture of Spain. Alfredo and Gretel are enchanting individuals, and the entire experience was amazing!!
The class was the highlight of our trip! The food was incredible and it was great to get a history and cultural lesson along with our tapas tasting. The instructions were very easy to follow and it was great that we were able to be hands on with the techniques. The space was beautiful and spacious and we did not feel crowded. Thank you so much for a great experience
This was a fabulous class. The location is in an older building facing the square - great location plus close to the market. The walk through the market was both informative and fun. The class was great - the chef and interpreter were fun and learned a lot about Spanish cooking in general. I would definitely recommend!
