We are Adriano and Mirella, a couple in love and we like to share our beautiful home with people who enjoy good food. I'm an actor and theater director with artistic experiences worldwide, Mirella is an administrator and event organizer. I always had a passion for cooking, and now at the age of 50 I try to share my experience in the kitchen with our guests. A great help I receive from my aunt Carla, who prepares the pasta and desserts as it was once done in the good old days. We are available for master classes of the various dishes that we prepare.

Great experience overall! Adriano & Merriella (sp?) were so welcoming. The conversation and meal were great and just what our group was looking for. We were a group of 5 celebrating a birthday and they made the evening exceptional. A wonderful, authentic Italian dinner experience with wonderful wine. I can't thank them enough for their hospitality.

We started the evening with a private transport to the dinner by Adriano. The home is on a beautiful site with olive trees, grapevines, and wonderful fig trees. The wine and dinner was delightful with each bite. Plus, it was gluten free!! The host and his wife are extremely lovely.

Adriano and Mirella were the perfect hosts. The setting is breathtaking and our party of four very much enjoyed walking through the olive grove and vineyard, learning about the area and harvesting. Adriano pulled some fresh figs off the trees to let us have a taste. Best figs I've ever tasted. Every part of the meal was delicious and prepared with care, thought and love. Be sure to go VERY hungry because there is so much amazing food to enjoy. One of my favorites of the night was the tomato bread soup. It was so rustic and delicious. The assortment of grilled meats was outstanding. And the finale was one of the best tiramisu desserts we had during our 2 weeks in Italy. I would HIGHLY recommend this dining experience. We hope to return again if Adriano and Mirella haven't moved on to bigger things ;)

This was absolutely our favorite thing we did while in Italy. Adriano was a gracious host and we enjoyed learning about cooking from him in the beautiful setting of his home. Would highly recommend!

As the four of us sat and planned our upcoming “wedding anniversary” vacation plans to the magical land of Italy, we scoured over numerous websites and poured through a myriad of travel books to logistically create an ultimate adventure that would become an unbelievably memorable trip. As all our decisions began to coalesce into a consensus itinerary, the plane tickets were purchased, the various tours were booked and we finally felt that nothing was left to enhance our activities and the celebration of our 40th and our friend’s 50th wedding anniversaries. But, as so often happens when you begin talking with family, friends, neighbors, etc., someone will invariably mention that one special event that should not be missed. As they continue to rave about that one unique experience, it becomes quite apparent that further research is required. Such was the case with our exposure to BonAppetour and the incredible evening that our friends had experienced while visiting Florence. Without any hesitation they both indicated that the evening they spent with Adriano was the highlight of their trip and if it was at all possible we should book an evening with him if our schedule allowed. As we reviewed the BonAppetour website, we felt that we were very fortunate that the one evening we had free was also available for a dinner with Adriano. After making the reservations, he and I had a number of email exchanges in order that he could get a sense of what we would like and the reason for our trip. An evening meal? A dinner? A short respite from the miles of walking in the city? Not even close. What Adriano planned for this one special evening was a banquet, but only for the four of us. As our excitement and anticipation for the celebratory evening grew, we began our walk to the designated meeting place. However, unbeknownst to us, the pre-arranged driver who was to pick us up in Florence had fallen ill that afternoon. As we waited in the designated piazza, there soon arrived a smiling gentleman with a small piece of paper with our name. It was none other than Adriano. We soon began the 45-minute drive to his beautiful home in the Tuscany countryside. As we coursed through the small scenic villages along the way, he regaled us with his background, his love of food, the joy of entertaining and his family’s history. As we stepped out of the car, we were treated to the wonderful view of a formally prepared dinner table-for-four overlooking the Tuscan valley below us and in the foreground were Adriano’s family olive tree orchard and his own vineyards. As we toured the grounds and his home, Adriano spoke with great pride of his family, his land, his heritage and his love of cooking. There was almost a sense that he was more excited about the evening ahead more than our small group. With a bottle of red wine and white wine awaiting us, both of which were produced from his own vineyard, Adriano brought out a wonderful dish of appetizers which included cantaloupe wrapped with prosciutto, marinated olives and pecorino cheese encasing fresh pears. As we quickly devoured everything, Adriano was immediately at hand to offer an additional serving. Next up was the home-made bread spread with freshly produced butter topped with anchovies which was then followed by a gorgeous plate of bruschetta and three additional courses of appetizers. Now at this point, we are starting to realize that Adriano really, really loves to cook and we might never stop eating nor will we be able to even move after this evening. As he prepared his beloved outdoor stone & brick oven, he shared with us the upcoming portion of the meal…….freshly cut thick bacon squares, chicken kabobs, pork loin steaks and sirloin steaks. But before we even had time to fully grasp the enormity of his preparation, Adriano gleefully trotted out the next few courses, ranging from home-made pasta, the cucumber salad, the tossed salad and even more fresh bread. With the setting sun painting a beautiful masterpiece across the sky, the four of us began pondering at what point should we enroll in Weight-Watchers. But the thought of any such action was quickly forgotten as we delightfully continued to enjoy every morsel of food before us. It was now time for a short break to settle our stomachs, chat with our gracious host, soak in the atmosphere and simply enjoy the moment at hand. Of course, what better way to enhance an already incredible night than to add some magnificent dessert wine at this time, again produced from the very vineyard which lay only a few yards from us. As if everything this gentleman had thought of throughout this entire evening wasn’t enough, the perfect Italian dessert was brought to the table. Tiramisu!!! Three portions later and still with half a tray left, we finally decided to stop eating or someone was going to explode. Adriano’s final gesture of a champagne toast to our anniversaries was the proverbial “cherry on the top” (and he has the cherry tree near the vineyards) to an evening which become more than simply a “night out”. This wonderful man brought us into his home, made us feel like family, treated us like royalty and created an entire environment in which we were able to relax, laugh, share some stories and enjoy life as it was meant to be savored. Adriano was the consummate host, an incredible chef, a truly kind man who simply wanted to share the love of his home, the love of his country and of course the love of his cooking & food. We began the evening as strangers, yet at the end of the evening we had become close friends. Thank you Adriano.
