Let me tell you a story about Me. My name is Edith. It was one name out of three that was picked out of a hat. Since my parents were non-English speaking new immigrants to Canada and I was finally 5 and ready for kindergarten, it just had to be done. I grew up hating the name as Chinese people kept referring to me as ‘Ediff’ or ‘E-dit’ or ‘Eduff’. Now that I’m older and my skin is as thick as cowhide, I don’t care anymore. The name has become me. I am my name. I am Edith. I never truly knew who I was until I was nearing 40. Before then, I was just doing what everyone else was doing – working a job they didn't particularly liked, meeting up with people for no particular reason, making money because it was never enough, getting a ‘part-time’ maid to do my dirty work and procrastinating whatever could be procrastinated. Now I’m all hands-on, from cleaning my toilet bowl to doing my own nails. Taking charge sure is invigorating! The only way to get to know who I am is to meet me. It’s now that I have begun to test my strengths and admit my weaknesses. I finally have more than enough. I have enough to share. I am dedicated to share my knowledge, skills and wisdom through the various classes I hold in the comfort of my home in South Horizons, Apleichau. Be it cooking class, a guided cooking tour of my hood (Apleichau) or English class, now you've got an alternative! Better yet, the MTR is coming straight to my doorstep by the end of the year! Yippee!
