Our evening with Adina and Dorin in Bucharest was one of our favorite experiences in our entire 2-weeks European tour across 5 countries. Adina and Dorin shared dinner with us are were SO hospitable, kind and welcoming. We had a wonderful discussion over the best meal of our entire trip. Everything from the home cooked bread, to locally purchased cheeses and meats to the mice, the ciorba and the final course of gogosi was everything and more we could have hoped for. I can't say it enough - book with Adina and Dorin! You not only won't regret it - you'll be raving about it to friends and family after your trip. Thank you again Adina and Dorin for such a wonderful meal and good company! We so appreciated it!

Adina's cooking clearly surpasses the restaurant experiences on our following travel days in Romania. Very hospitable people and Dorin speaks good english, which lead to interesting discussions -we got to know a lot about the life in Romania. This was everything you could wish for at an "eat by a local" experience. We warmly recommend visiting this family. :)

We met Adina and Dorin in the local gym hall and communicated from the first sight with them. We have similar age children and the same passion for cats, gardening and life in general. We have been their guests in their nice house and I can say how impressed I was about zen spirit of their house and especially their wonderful garden and hospitality. Adina is a master gardner in flowers and vegetables. A great afternoon spent together with them, sharing informations and impressions and winning two great friends! Thank you, Adina and Dorin!

,I have known Adina for a year, but I have been won over by the great food that she cooks for friends. Because, she only takes care of her family, she cooks with bio-ingredients. The afternoons spent in her company are always too short.”

As a big traveler and a natural born gourmet, I can say that every of over 40 countries from 5 continents I traveled had offered me a different experience. However, whether it was a Michelin restaurant or a street food, the best authentic food I ever experienced, it was eating with the locals. Brazil, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Dubai and Greece where topping though but I didn't know what my home country Romania was yet to offer me. A few years ago, some friends invited me to their friends house, somewhere not far away from Bucharest, the capital city I live in. And so I've met Adina, her husband Dorin and their lovely son, Alex, i.e. Dumitriu family. From the moment I stepped into their yard I knew I was in a very special place. The simple yet chic house placed in a green luxurious garden dominated by a huge old walnut tree became my favorite oasis in the next heat summer days. It was one of the most outstanding experience, not only culinary speaking but rather as a whole, as a total complete experience. Adina is a lovely host and she has a wonderful personality. Her style of cooking combines typical Southern food with a large variety of appetizers, salads and bbq with some genuine Transylvanian dishes. That I think it gives her food a very personal touch and the way she mixes modern with traditional as well. Nonetheless she carefully selects top ingredients, suppling from small farms from the proximity and she adds flavors from herbs she grows in her small veggies back yard. And who knows what other secret ingredients she adds that makes her food so delicious but I suspect her she puts a lot of love and passion and good energy. Oh, and let's not forget about the sweets! There's nothing more refreshing then sitting out in the garden, in all those heat days, eating her sweets, drinking her lemonade and some coffee! My daughter is madly in love with her raspberry & blueberry muffins and I'm forever in love with her signature apple cake. All in all, if plan to travel to Bucharest, DO stop to Dumitriu family. It will simply make your trip worthy and I guarantee you will have a truly wonderful and memorable experience!
