Castello di Amorosa is the situated on the hills just south of the city of Calistoga in the Napa Valley. It is also known as the “castle of love” in Italian and dubbed the “Castle Winery” by some. The unique place was inspired by a castle in Tuscany and provide spectacular views and fantastic wines. It was built over a 15-year period by Dario Sattui, a fourth generation winemaker. The Castello is merely a backdrop to showcase some of the Napa Valley’s best wines. The vineyards surrounding the Castello are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Primitivo and Sangiovese grapes which produce low yields and intensely flavored wines. The internationally acclaimed wines pair well with foods from around the world.
