As committed vegans, we look forward to helping you learn about homemade pasta!
Many people believe that all pasta is made with eggs - but actually, there are many regions that today still use the traditional eggless method. Good news!
In fact, almost all dried pasta is made without eggs and so actually the majority of pasta eaten by Italians contains no eggs at all.
Unfortunately, nearly all past making classes use the egg method so we look forward to sharing our knowledge with those wanting a plant-based experience.
We can cook & chat together over wine and nibbles and then sit down to eat overlooking the Colosseum!
View the Colosseum from our dining table and we'll also take you on the rooftop terrace for a cocktail and the best selfie in Rome.
We're in the Monti neighbourhood, with its many undiscovered gems we'll happily share with you.
You can very easily reach us with a metro station one minute away and taxis and busses always available.
Hello! We're Francesca and Ryan, yoga teachers and health geeks. We're bringing the passion of our
The experience was so authentic. A truly hidden gem. The food was delicious and you can surprise your friends at home with that recipe. On top you can go to the rooftop and enjoy the beautiful view on the Colosseum. A truly hidden gem in Rome.
I highly recommend this cooking class for vegans and non-vegans (we had non-vegans in our class who loved the food). The food was delicious (especially the cacio e pepe). Francesca and Ryan are great cooks and they're both kind and fun. Absolutely 5 stars - a highlight of my week in Rome.
Unfortunately Jessica and Ryon were not home. We received a conformation but they did not . It is a great location. We took the metro to Ostia. We received or refund automatically. Hope to see them next time. the one is not for Jess and Ryon
Our day with Francesca and Ryan was one to remember! Both dishes we made were so simple yet delicious. Our favourite was the cacio e Pepe.. we still think about it to this day and can’t wait to make it back home for our families! Even the side dishes were amazing. Ryan and Francesca were awesome, we had great chats over lunch looking over the colosseum and hanging out with their gorgeous dog :) A valuable experience we won’t forget and so different from a lot of other touristy type experiences. So would highly recommend!!
My wife and I had a truly wonderful experience with Ryan. Francesca had to travel home to be with her family the week we were scheduled so Ryan was a one man band. It was just the three of us and it really allowed for an intimate and educational experience. We have been vegan for almost three years and we learned SO MUCH from his techniques and have some great authentic recipes to try at home. We didn't feel like we were in a cooking class, but rather the home of friend that was passing on knowledge to the two of us. Can't speak highly enough about the experience. My only critique.. they should have mentioned that they have the cutest dog in the world because we constantly had to stop to pet her adorable face.
Francesca and Ryan were wonderful hosts! They are both very knowledgeable and fun! For their pasta making class we made several dishes and everything was delicious, including some vino! They made me feel very welcome and I left full! At the end of the class, we all went (and their little dog too :) ) upstairs for a spectacular view of the Colosseo and surrounding landscapes and some professional photos. A truly wonderful experience! Grazie mille ragazzi!
This dinner was by far the highlight of our trip to Rome. Everything was absolutely incredible!! Francesca was the sweetest host and we had a fantastic time getting to know her and exchanging laughs and conversation. The food was better than anything I've ever eaten––I swear. Each dish was prepared so thoughtfully with their own unique and amazing flavours. Francesca took the time to explain the history and cultural significance of each dish too:) Plus, all of the ingredients were fresh and locally sourced! The apartment was beautiful and the view of the colosseum is to die for. We still cannot stop talking about how fun and yummy this dinner was. If you are looking for good vegan food in Rome, and an exceptional roman experience with a great host, do yourself a favor and book a dinner with Francesca!
This was my first experience with BonAppetour, but Francesca and Ryan definitely set the bar. I was welcomed very warmly into their cosy home, located in the heart of Trastevere. Although I'm not vegan myself, I do enjoy eating vegetarian (mostly) and vegan (occasionaly). The dishes they prepared were not only bursting with flavour, but also beautifully presented. They even made an extra effort to make every course gluten free, especially for me. It's hard to choose my favourite dish of the night. I was crazy about the homemade crackers and I thought their own take on farinata, made into a lasagna was a winner. Between all this lovely food, conversation was very easy and touched topics ranging from healthy eating, history, poor service in cake shops, movies, yoga, mummies (yes mummies) etc. Time flew by and I enjoyed every single minute of it. I wish them the very best and I'm sure their passion for healthy food/living will take them far!
I had the pleasure of dining with Francesca and Ryan for a whole week when I visited them last September and it really opened my eyes to vegan and vegetarian cuisine. Like a lot of people I have, out of habit, been a big meat and dairy consumer for most of my life but I have started to examine this in recent months and Francesca and Ryan helped me do this not only by showing me delicious alternatives to animal based foods, but also by sharing the wealth of knowledge and nutritional information they have. They were happy to answer all of my questions in a really helpful and positive way. I now eat significantly less animal products and feel much happier for it. In such a meat and cheese eating culture as Italy it is hard to find good vegan and vegetarian food, so the fact that Francesca and Ryan are sharing their home, their food and their passion with other people is a great thing.
I'm not a vegan but Francesca's food is always so delicious and it inspires me to make changes in my own eating habits. Francesca and Ryan are very knowledgable about food and nutrition and it's interesting to learn about these things from them. They have really opened mine and my partners eyes to the huge health benefits from being vegan, and made us realise that we can still get all the things we want in our daily diets from the vegan lifestyle. I can not wait to try more lovely dishes that francesca has to make.
