ABOUT THEEXPERIENCE

I meet so many people from different cultures who are all united by one thing – cooking!
‘Life is a combination of magic and pasta’ (Federico Fellini). Food is, and has always been, a way into a country’s or a place’s local culture. The Roman food culture is very rich and I am excited to be sharing it with you when you visit Rome!

A typical lesson goes something like this: we spend a couple of hours preparing, cooking, and learning about the dishes and the techniques used. Then we sit down to your very own home-cooked meal with a good bottle of wine.
This is also a great way for people to get a taste of the real Italian culture when visiting Rome and learning how to make some authentic Italian dishes and bring these skills back home!

Snacks to start the lesson

Main course is the famous potato gnocchi from Liguria
with an original basil pesto made in a white marble mortar.
Basil, pinenuts, garlic, parmigiano, pecorino chesses and evo olive oil (thats AMORE)!!

Gnocchi made by scratch with patatoes served with a fresh tomato sauce and parmigiano/ gorgonzola cheese.

Wine, beer and drinks.

Dessert options
Tiramisu'
Sbriciolona ( It resembles the more traditional sbrisolona recipe but it's a more recent one. Nutella is the queen of this delicious dessert/cake).
Ice cream, how to make a gelato by hand, which flavours? Cream ( custard), stracciatella, cioccolato, hazelnut, fruits.

ABOUT THELOCATION

Garbatella, the Roman neighbourhood south-east of Testaccio,
It’s not far from San Pietro fuori le mure, the great Papal basilica, and it’s the home of Eataly: but these tend to be the only items that make it to the average traveller’s bucketlist.
In reality, Garbatella is a district that everyone should probably visit for its fascinating architecture and culture. Built at the turn of the last century, populated with Art Deco villas in a garden-city design,
I live in a more modern block in the shadow of Eataly and very close to the Acient appian way and Terme di Cracalla.

Our best evening during our trip in Rome! Sandra is really an expert in teaching, cooking and being an amazing host! This is the perfect way to learn AND taste some proper Italian local cuisine! She made us feel really welcome in her home. We made an amazing starter, artichoke, delicious pasta alla amatriciana, and finally tiramusi! For all the dishes, fresh local food & ingredients were used!
