ABOUT THEEXPERIENCE

Welcome to my home cooking class, where we will be cooking various authentic Vietnamese dishes (both traditional and modern) together in my kitchen! Do you know that Vietnamese cuisine is one of the most popular in Asia? They are very fresh, healthy and not so heavy on oil, yet very flavourful and tasty! In my kitchen, we will be using all fresh and safe ingredients, untainted by harmful chemicals and seasonings.

In your 3-4 hours with me, you will not only learn how to cook and eat the dishes, but also know why the dishes are cooked in a certain way, and also the perfect ingredients substitute when you want to cook them at home! You will also learn the way to present and arrange the food in an appetizing manner, as well as the Vietnamese food culture! Food to me is an art and lifestyle, and I would love to share it with you.

This experience is for 2 - 7 people only.

ABOUT THEMENU

I can teach you over 100 dishes from the north-central-south Vietnam. We will be cooking 3 dishes (any combination of an appetiser, a main dish, a side dish and/or dessert, customizable (with discretion from me!)

Some examples of dishes we will be cooking:

Appetiser : fresh spring rolls, fried spring rolls,
Main dish: Phở (beef noodles), Bún bò Huế (Huế style beef noodles), Bún mộc (Meat roll noodles), Miến xào cua (Stir-fried vermicelli with ocean crab)
Side dish: Stir-fried vegetables, salads, broccoli and meat roll
Dessert: Fresh fruits, Sweet soup.

ABOUT THELOCATION

I live in Gò Vấp district, a couple of kilometers from the centre, and really near Tan Son Nhat Airport. My home is also the cooking class, so that you will feel like home while learning how to cook here!

I arrived when Yen's friends were about to leave. We talked for a while over some really nice and sweet lychee, and then we started cooking. We made Goi cuon (Fresh spring roll) and Mien xao cua (Crab vermicelli), and it was a really eye opening experience. She guided me through each of the steps, and taught me a lot of tips on how to prepare, season and cook the dishes. I got to make my own rolls and stir-fried the vermicelli under her instruction. Yen also taught me how to present the food, using which ingredient for which color, and also their effects on our body. I had a great time learning and eating. Really recommend this!
