I grew up in Singapore and my roots are Cantonese-Chinese. The fried rice is always a classic and is a regular on the family's dinner table. I remember learning how to cook the fried rice in home economics class in Singapore. There is no doubt everyone can cook it (!). This is my favourite version using basmati rice and juicy prawns. I also want to share Singapore chicken curry here too as it often goes well with the fried rice.
We are located in a peaceful and laid back residential neighbourhood between Parsons Green and Putney Bridge (Zone 2). There is a popular classic pub down at Parsons Green (about 4 -6 mins walk), The White Horse, known to locals as ‘The Sloaney Pony’ if you fancy after dinner local atmosphere. There are other local pubs and bars along Fulham High Street and New King's Road to enjoy the local vibrancy of drinking scene on a Saturday evening. During the day on a good weather, if you fancy a good 45 min walk, the route from Sloane Square to New King's Road is dotted with nice shops and parks Or you could cycle. The trip advisor is a good source for getting to know the touristy things to do around here in SW6. I also highly recommend Fishers Fish and Chips at 19 Fulham high street for the traditional crispy battered cod and chunky chips.
