ABOUT THEEXPERIENCE

When you are in LA, California, visit your family member Jackie. Join me for a generous gourmet Middle Eastern dining experience and drinks in an intimate setting in my cozy home. The whole experience you’ll get is unique and different from what you would get at restaurants in CA.
Treat yourself or loved ones on special occasions or just come and enjoy a very special meal. Experience a vast selection of what Middle Eastern food, tradition & culture have to offer. Enjoy some Arabic music that transports you to a charming day in the Middle East. You might play some tabla or even dance if you like to! I’ll lead if you need.

I hope to make your evening in LA a special one!

Since the warmth and generosity of the Jordanian people are exceptional, arrive hungrily and enjoy the large portions. Come and enjoy your meal Bon Appetite!

ABOUT THEMENU

APPETIZER WELCOME (MEZEH)
Traditional Alcoholic Arak beverage or Wine. You can also bring your favorite drink

FRESH LEBANESE PITA BREAD WITH MIDDLE EASTERN BITES
Comes with a variety of typical Middle Eastern flavored-bites that transport taste buds.

FATOUSH
A savory mixture of fresh vegetables and herbs, dressed in a zesty lime vinaigrette, and toasted with pieces of flat pita bread (croutons)
FUL
Garlicky, lemony mashed fava beans and topped with olive oil and tahini sauce
BABA GANOUJ
Barbecued eggplants mashed with tahini sauce. Garnished with parsley and olive oil.
HUMMUS
A garlicky lemony dip made from chickpeas. Garnished with olive oil, spices, and herbs. Prepared my way.

THE MEZEH (APPETIZERS) COME WITH
Pita bread, pickles, green olives, green onions, tomato, cucumber, and peppers

ONE CHOICE OF
KABSA
A mouthwatering rice-based dish and the national food of Arabia, first employed when man discovered fire. It is made with chicken, Lumi, and special spices mix. Garnished with slivered almonds and raisins. Served with plain Greek yogurt.
KABSA SALAD
A classic Arabic chopped salad made with sumac with its tangy lemony flavor, and homemade dressing.

MUSAKHAN CHICKEN
Caramelized onions, sumac spice, virgin olive oil, crunchy almonds; all enveloped around nicely roasted chicken over freshly baked pita bread.
YOGURT CUCUMBER SALAD
The famous yogurt cucumber mint salad (my version). Perfect with Musakhan
OR
VEGETARIAN DISH
A delicious vegetarian dish for guests who are not indulged with Kabsah or Musakhan

DESSERT: ONE CHOICE OF
BAKLAVA
A crispy, sweet and impressive dessert made of filo pastry filled with chopped nuts and soaked with sweet home-made syrup
OR
KUNAFEH
Knafeh is a delicious and rich Levantine dessert, made with shredded phyllo dough, layered with Akawi cheese, soaked in honey syrup and garnished with pistachio.
OR
HAREESEH:
(Basboosa, Namoora…) A semolina coconut dessert soaked with sweet sugar-based syrup with rosewater added.

ARABIC COFFEE OR HERBAL TEA
Arabic Coffee: Coffee beans grounded with some cardamom and boiled along together.
Herbal Tea: Black tea with your choice of mint/chamomile/cardamom/or cinnamon

I welcome up to 6 guests to my home in Canoga Park - LA for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Parking is available and free.

Canoga Park is in a safe and quiet neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley in LA, CA.
Commute: between 18 mi–25 mi to Universal Studios, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, and Hollywood. Easy access to all freeways. 7 Close bus stations.
Convenient shopping centers are less than 2 miles away. Westfield Topanga & The Village is 1.4 miles away.
Parking is available and secure.
