ABOUT THEEXPERIENCE
You are warmly welcome to join me, Emmi to experience Nordic cooking and delicacies in our warm Finnish home with a Nordic design classics in furniture, kitchenware and interior.
We will start by visiting local Food Market Hall in Helsinki city centre to pick up fresh seasonal ingredients. On our short metro trip, we could have a look at the famous architecture of Alvar Aalto on our way to my kitchen.
We will then prepare a seasonal lunch together in the comfort of my home. Fret not as I will guide from the start to the end! An introduction to Finnish culture and habits will be offered while cooking and through the dinner. As in every seasonal meal, we will use wild game meat (freshly hunted by my husband) and wild berries (picked up my grandmother).
So don't miss this opportunity to experience all things Finnish and enjoy the company of locals!
ABOUT THELOCATION
Meeting at Hakaniemi Food Market hall at 9.30 am.
Hakaniemi market hall is a genuine Finnish market hall. Market’s has many shops Eg. fresh fish, bread and pastries and other delicious food and souvenirs.
Cooking lesson is held in Tapiola, Espoo just 10 min trip by metro. On our way, we can have a look at famous architecture by Alvar Aalto at the Aalto University campus (metro station: Aalto University). My house, originally my grandparent's house, is situated in famous Tapiola garden city. The whole area was built in the 50's with the vision to foster harmony between forest nature and modern infrastructure.
