ABOUT THEEXPERIENCE

We are an Indian family living in USA with our roots still attached to India.

I have had a keen interest in cooking since I was young. I developed my interest when I saw my grandmother cooking traditional North Indian recipes. I later learnt cooking from my mother Mrs Sunita, who is an amazing cook. It was my mother who truly inspired me and I learnt a lot from her.

I love meeting new people and hosting them and I offer both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. I use the organic seasonal vegetables, meat and a blend of traditional herbs, oils and spices so you can get a taste of local, authentic Delhi food.

At this dinner you'll enjoy a 4-course Meal including an Indian Sweet Dish.

ABOUT THEMENU

Our menu includes authentic home cooked Delhi food. All the dishes that we serve are exquisite family recipes, most of which are hard to find in any restaurant.

*We'll start with*

Welcome drink:
Mint-Lemonade Sodas/Coconut Water/Juice/Plain Water.

Appetizer:
*Papdi Chaat*- It is popular fast food served in Northern India. Papdi refers to wafers and word chaat is used for several snacks and fast food meals.
or
*Panipuri* - It is a common street snack in the Indian subcontinent. It consists of a round, hollow puri, fried crisp and filled with a mixture of flavored water, tamarind chutney, chili, chaat masala, potato and onion.

The main course:
#1 Masoor Kee Daal (red lentils cooked in our style); or
Daal Tadka (lentil cooked in spicy onion tomato masala)

#2 Matar Paneer (Indian cheese & peas cooked with special home made spices); or
Rajma (red kidney beans is served in a spicy gravy with many Indian spices); or
Kabuli Chana (chickpea prepared in Punjabi style); or
Chicken Masala (cooked on low heat using yogurt with our home made spices); or
Tangy Fish Curry (marinated fish cooked with mustard seeds, chopped ginger and garlic)

#3 Steamed Rice/ Jeera Rice/ Chicken Biryani
#4 Chapati/Puri (Indian bread)
#5 Raita ( made with yogurt, minced onion, spices)
#6 Papad (a round, flat, dry cracker made of lentils)

A little Sweet for the Savory:
*Rabdi* - It is made by boiling the milk on low heat for a long time until it becomes dense and changes its color to pinkish. Sugar, spices and dry fruits are added to it to give it flavor; or
*Kheer* - A rice pudding, made by boiling with milk and sugar. It is flavored with cardamom, saffron, almonds or other dry fruits and nuts; or
*Suji ka Halwa* - It is a classic pudding made with ghee, semolina and sugar syrup and enriched with cardamom almonds.
