Cakes and sweets are my speciality. So, why not having a lighter meal and aim for a sumptuous cake? Or better for a taste of two or three?

ABOUT THEMENU

You can have a light first course, i.e.a soup of seasonal vegetables or a simple "pasta", a second course of veal or chicken -or even vegetarian- with side dishes, fruits, and complete the meal with a tasting of two or three cakes.
Choose between:
- crustard with home made jam
- fresh fruit crustard
- almonds and ricotta cake
- buckwheat cake
- house apple pie american style
- house chocolate cake with cream
- coffe and cream cheesecake
- american panettone (spectacular!)
- house tiramisù
- strawberry tiramisù
- almond shingles with "creme chantilly"
- the real Babà with rhum
- pastiera
....and much more!
You won't miss a selection of spirits, some of whom home made.

ABOUT THELOCATION

My house is a typical umbrian country house on a small hill, that dates back to the 18th century. It lays just in front of a castle. We'll have dinner in the garden, enjoying the fresh of the summer night and watching the starry sky.

Die Atmosphäre in Claudia´s "Countryhome" ist herzlich und entspannt, das Essen ein Genuss. Da ich viele Unverträglichkeiten habe, ist es oft schwierig auf Reisen gutes Essen zu finden. Claudia kocht mit Zutaten, die frisch aus ihrem Garten oder der Umgebung kommen und hat problemlos ein veganes, soja- und glutenfreies Menü zusammengestellt - mein Favorit sind die italienischen Fallafelbällchen!!! Absolut wiederholenswert!

Das Essen bei Claudia war geschmackvoll und ausgewogen. Vorspeise mit Käse und Schinkenspezialitäten, eine ganz besondere Suppe mit Nudeln und Bohnen mit Rezept aus Campanien und leckere Salcicce mit feinem Salat aus Fenchel und Orangen. Eine Wunderbare Torte mit Mandeln und Ricotta und alles begleitet von gutem Wein, Wasser und selbstgerechten Nußlikör. Also neue Gerichte, zusammengestellt mit bekannten, aus bester Qualität. Es gab auch weitere Gäste aus Deutschland und Italien mit denen wir (Italienerin + Deutscher) und bestens unterhielten. Danke Claudia, gerne wieder!

A lunch at Claudia's is always a real pleasure! She definitely knows how to cook delicious and healthy food using local ingredients. A tip: ask her the "crunchy" first course based on cereals. You'll be surprised by the great taste and by how she makes it crunch... :-)

I won't repeat what is already written in other reviews and in Claudia's profile: the food and house are accurately described. I'd rather add that Claudia loves to walk her surroundings; don't hesitate, ask her to take you walking, you will enjoy a beautiful countryside. She is also a talented tango dancer, if you share this passion she will take you to the best milongas.

At Claudia's one immediately feels welcome and at ease, eiter in her cosy home or in her wonderful garden. Hosting comes naturally to Claudia and she always surprises her guests with traditional foods with a personal twist and original recipies made with genuine ingredients (partially straight from her own garden), skilfully putting together various dishes and flavours. Claudia prepares vegetables and grains that other people have either forgotten about or never even heard of, turning them into appetizing, nourishing dishes. Claudia knows about tasty food and is happy to share it with her guests!
