I and Chiara were born in Florence and we love our land. Florentine are very proud of their history and traditions, and about their food and recipes. We like to cook our traditional food and use organic vegetables and no ogm products. We have our own garden and we use fresh ingredients and also wild edible plants of which our traditional recipes are very used. If you have time and are interested we can make also a easy stroll to find them at our garden. Usually we baked also our own bread with a more 100 years yeast. Our dinners are with seasonal dishes. We use many vegetables from local and organic vegetables, always using fresh products, so we don't have a fixed menu. We will always start with a Mediterranean antipasto of olives, various dairy products and a taste fo salumi and then go to a plate of pasta, or "gnudi", tortelli, gnocchi or a soup like ribollita, pappa al pomodoro or pasta e ceci. We will continue with a second course that, if you are vegetarian, could be a vegetable pie or you can try to taste the famous Florentine "tripe" or a "peposo". We will always end with a strictly handmade ice cream and a drop of liquor that is always homemadeor, if is the right season, we can taste a castagnaccio. Of course we can agree even earlier depending on your requests, even if you are celiac or intolerant to some ingredient.

I really would like to rate this experience a 6 out of 5. Alessandro and Chiara were not only great hosts but also wonderful people. Because there were some renovations going on in their apartment they took us to their garden in the country for dinner. From the road we walked through a vineyard to reach the garden. We picked salad greens and had appetizers and Prosecco, then took a walk through the woods and enjoyed the creative touches our hosts have added as landscape features. The food was excellent and it was all traditional Florentine dishes. I would highly recommend this experience.
