I have just experienced some delicious home cooking by Erinc and his lovely girlfriend. My accommodation wasn't to far away from their apartment which is right in the city and an easy walk. The food that was served was brilliant and made the traditional way. We started with Hunkarbegendi (otherwise known as Sultan likes it) served on a yummy aubergine puree. The side dish was served along side the main which was grape leaves stuffed with rice and spices. We finished off with a lovely dessert of semolina with ice-cream. My hosts were both very friendly and conversation flowed smoothly as we talked about Istanbul and other areas of interest. Overall a great opportunity to try some home cooked food by locals. An excellent and unique experience in Istanbul.

I had dined in with erinc during my trip to istanbul last july. It was a cozy and beautiful place. Erinc,his sis and his gf were preparing the dish for us. and they had an awesome vibe around them. we spoke about istanbul and all while waiting for dinner to be ready. I loved the main dish. the beef was very nice!!.. And the drink they prepared was REFRESHING. We had a good time talking and having a hearty meal. Definitely a memorable experience.
